Designed for small to mid-sized facilities in New Jersey, this program provides an incentive from the state’s gas and electric utilities to make energy upgrades more accessible and affordable. By participating in NJ Direct Install, businesses can easily and cost-effectively replace outdated lighting, HVAC, and other operational systems.

NJ Direct Install is ideal for commercial and institutional buildings with an average peak electric demand of 200 kW or less, offering a clear roadmap to utility cost reduction through the installation of high-efficiency equipment. The program not only identifies the most effective energy-saving measures but also covers up to 80% of the retrofit costs, significantly enhancing the return on investment.

Participants are only required to pay their share of the project costs while benefiting from 100% of the energy savings over time. NJ Direct Install presents an excellent opportunity for businesses to upgrade aging and inefficient systems.

Recent Update: As of Fiscal Year 2022, facilities with peak electric demands up to 100 kW (Tier 1 customers), nonprofit organizations, and properties in Urban Enterprise Zones or Opportunity Zones could qualify for up to 80% funding on installed measures.
